This moist and rich cake is brightened up with orange zest folded into the vanilla buttercream – it’s like an orange creamcicle on a devil dog!

Ingredients
8 t unsalted butter, room temperature
1/8 t salt
4 c confectioners' sugar, sifted
2 t vanilla extract
1 T grated orange zest
.25 – .3 cup milk or cream, room temperature
Method
In a large bowl, beat together the butter, shortening, and salt till fluffy.
Add about half the confectioners' sugar, and beat slowly until well blended. Add the vanilla and half the milk or cream, and beat until fluffy. Continue mixing in sugar and milk alternately until they've been completely incorporated. Add the orange zest and beat together until the frosting is light and fluffy.
Have two slices.
